RELATIONSHIPS: GET OVER IT

Don't you think it's strange how you can meet a stranger and before you know it they mean everything to you and life is amazing then one day you wake up and you are strangers again? Break-ups can be a real pain especially if you felt a genuine connection with the person but as cliche, as it sounds you need to remember that if it was meant to be they will return and if it wasn't then it would have happened sooner or later so let's just get it over with now. Below I suggest two ways in which you can speed up and lighten your heartbreak.

TWO WAYS TO GET OVER IT:

FORGIVENESS
Forgiveness is key. Forgive him/her for not being the person you thought or wanted them to be. Forgive him/her for not doing the things you wanted them to do. Forgive him/her as we are all human and we all make mistakes. Forgive yourself. Forgive yourself for falling for the person in the first place. Forgive yourself for not trusting your instincts/intuition. Forgive yourself for not saying enough or saying too much. Forgive yourself as we are all human and we all make mistakes. Finally, forgive the situation. The only way you'll truly be happy again is if you accept the situation for what it is and you forgive it and everyone involved for not being what you expected it to be. We experience disappointment and heartbreak due to the expectations we label on to people and situation. If you can forgive another or a situation for not meeting your expectations you can resume to your life quicker and be happy again.

STOP DREAMING
The one thing we all do after a break up is sit and reminisce about the good old days, how warm they felt in your arms and that one time they did that really funny thing or the other time you opened up to them about something you've never told anyone before. And although this is completely normal this also makes getting over the person extremely hard. How are you suppose to move on if all you think about is him-him him/her her her?  You can't!! You need to stop dreaming. Wake up and accept that that was then and this is now.  You are no longer in that position and yes those were good times but that chapter is done and this chapter that you're in right now also will have good times so be open to it. If you catch yourself thinking about them shift your focus to something else maybe work or a book you're reading or even just return your mind to the activity that you are doing at that moment in time and concentrate on it. Live in the present, not that past.
